Requirements

Systems Administrator (Directory Services) - 2 positions available

Position Description:

The Systems Administrator is a technical position that will be responsible for managing systems related to UCA’s network directory services, server administration, and other systems.  The Systems Administrator will work with the Director of IT Infrastructure and other IST staff to ensure operations, systems, and services support both current and future requirements.  

Class Code: C124 (Systems Specialist)

FLSA Status: Exempt

Base Salary Range: Up to $54,662

Base Hourly Range: Up to $26.28

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer Active Directory, including directory objects, user accounts, printing, SCCM, Microsoft Endpoint Protection, Group Policy management, DNS, and DHCP
  • Document systems/configurations and related common maintenance procedures
  • Provide secondary support for email system and IT-hosted Windows applications
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

  • Administration and management of Microsoft Active Directory
  • Administration and management of Windows and RedHat Linux servers
  • Problem-solving skills (reasoning, intuition, and persistence)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with highly technical vendors and support engineers, as well as non-technical end users
  • Willingness to be cross-training in other IT infrastructure areas including networking, security, and storage

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; plus five years of experience in systems analysis or related area, including one year in a leadership capacity. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FORALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years recent systems administration experience
  • Extensive experience administering Microsoft Active Directory in a medium-to-large scale network environment
  • Experience using Microsoft SCCM for workstation imaging, endpoint protection, software updates
  • Experience creating and troubleshooting group policies in Active Directory
  • Experience in managing/administering servers or systems
  • Experience managing G Suite (Google Apps) for Education
  • Experience with PrinterLogic network printing
  • Experience with Avecto Defendpoint privilege management, application control, and content isolation
  • Recognized industry certification (ex: MTA, MCSA, MCSE)
  • Higher education institution IT experience

Systems Administrator (Datacenter) - 1 position available

Position Description:

The Datacenter Systems Administrator is a technical position that will be responsible for managing systems related to UCA’s server, storage, and virtual infrastructure.  The Datacenter Systems  Administrator will work with the Lead Infrastructure Engineer and other IT staff to ensure operations, systems, and services support both current and future requirements.

Class Code: C124 (Systems Specialist)

FLSA Status: Exempt

Base Salary Range: Up to $54,662

Base Hourly Range: Up to $26.28

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build, manage, and administer Windows and RedHat Linux servers
  • Manage, administer, and backup SAN storage devices
  • Work with the Lead Infrastructure Engineer to administer the University’s VMware environment
  • Perform tape, virtual, and server based backups and ensure recovery procedures are current and tested
  • Document systems/configurations and related common maintenance procedures
  • Provide secondary support for IT infrastructure functions such as Active Directory and other IT-hosted Windows and Linux applications
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
