Job Details

The main function of this position is to provide significant technical support for several of UCA’s enterprise applications.  Additionally, this position also provides support for and maintenance of enterprise database systems.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, upgrade, patch, and otherwise support several enterprise applications, such as Ellucian Recruit, DegreeWorks, and Perceptive Document Imaging.
  • Act as the primary backup to the Sr. ERP Administrator for Ellucian Banner
  • Support other critical high-availability application and database environments.
  • Configure and administer multi-tier applications, including relevant database backends.
  • Administer relational database systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL.
  • Install and configure software in Windows and Linux environments.
  • Write and interpret Windows, Linux, or UNIX shell scripts (bat, bash, ksh, csh).
  • Create, monitor, upgrade, patch, back up and secure production-critical databases.
  • Write and interpret SQL, including SQL stored in a database.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of diverse IT professionals, clients, and partners.
  • Perform related duties and fulfill responsibilities as required.

  • High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision.
  • General knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Payment Card Industry/Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) years experience installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise applications in Windows and Linux environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, information systems, computer science, or a related field from an accredited institution; OR equivalent professional experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the Minimum Qualifications the ideal candidate will also possess:

  • Experience working in a higher education IT environment.
  • Minimum of four (4) years direct experience administering Ellucian products such as Banner, Recruit, and DegreeWorks.
  • Technical knowledge of any of the following is a plus:
    • Oracle 11g or higher
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • MySQL
    • Microsoft CRM
    • PL/SQL, or SQL Plus
    • Apache/Tomcat
    • Oracle WebLogic
    • Oracle ODS/EDW
    • Evisions Argos, Form Fusion, or Intellicheck
    • FileMaker or FileMaker Server
